A Prayer for the Beginning of the Day

O Lord, grant me to greet the coming day in peace. Grant that I might fully surrender myself to thy holy will. In every hour of the day reveal thy will to me. Teach me to treat all that comes to me throughout this day with peace of soul and with the firm conviction that thy will governs all.

In all my words and actions, guide my thoughts and feelings. In every unexpected event, do not let me forget that all art sent by thee. Teach me to act straightforwardly and wisely with every member of my family, neither embarrassing nor saddening anyone.

O Lord, give me strength to bear the fatique of the coming day and all that it shall bring. Direct my will and teach me to pray, to believe, to hope, to be patient, to forgive, and to lovethrough Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Intercessions

Prayer Against Evil Spirits

O God of gods and Lord of Lords, Creator of the fiery ranks and Fashioner of the fleshless powers, the Artisan of heavenly things and those under the heavens, whom no man hast seen, nor is able to see, whom all creation fears: into the dark depths of Hell thou hast hurled the Commander who had become proud, and who, because of his disobedient service wast cast down from the heights to earth, as well as the angels that fell away with him, all having become evil demons. Grant that this, my exorcism being performed in thine awesome Name, be terrible to the Master of evil and to all his minions who had fallen with him from the heights of brightness. Drive him into banishment, commanding him to depart hence, so that no harm might be worked against thy sealed Image. Prayer if Home is Troubled by Evil Spirits

O Lord God of our salvation, Son of the Living God, who is borne on the Cherubim, being above all dominions, principalities, authorities, and powers: thou art great and fearsome to all around you. Thou art the One who set the heavens like a vault and made the earth in thy might; who directs the universe in thy wisdom. When earthquakes occur under heaven from the foundations, its pillars are unshaken. Thou speakest and the sun does not shine. Thou sealed the stars. Thou forbidst the seas and dried them up. Authorities and dominions hide from thy wrath, and the rock trembles before thee. Thou obliterated the gates of brass and demolished the bars of iron. Thou boundst the Mighty One and smashed his vessels. By thy Cross thou cast down tyrants and drew the Serpent with the hook of thy humanity. And having cast him down, thou bound him with hooks in the gloom of Tartary. As the same Lord, the Hope of those who place their confirmation on thee, and the Wall of might for these whose expectation is in thee, renounce, drive away and transform all diabolical actions and all satanic indictments, all slanders of the Adversary, and of the powers lying under this roof. Free those bearing the Sign which is awesome against demons—the Cross of thy victory—and calling upon thy gracious name from possession by him and from those wandering about under this roof. Yea, Lord, thou drove away legions of demons, and the demons and unclean spirits by which the deaf and dumb were held. These thou hast commanded to depart and not return again. Prayer Against Demonic Influence

Almighty God, Who delivered thy people from the bondage of the adversary, and through thy Son cast down Satan like lightning, deliver me also from every influence of unclean spirits. Command Satan to depart far from me by the power of thine Only Begotten Son. Rescue me from demonic imaginings and darkness. Fill me with the light of the Holy Spirit that I may be guarded against all snares of crafty demons.
