Our Parish

A priest giving communion

Holy Resurrection Orthodox Mission seeks to serve the Orthodox community and neighbors of the Tri-Cities area. Our parish is wonderfully diverse with Christians from various Patriarchates and converts from many Christian denominations including Baptist, Roman Catholic, and Episcopal.

Located in Johnson City, Tennessee, we are an English speaking Mission founded by the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America, overseen by His Eminence, the Most Reverend Metropolitan PHILIP and the Right Reverend Bishop ANTOUN, the Auxiliary Bishop for the Miami Diocese and the Southeast. Fr. Michael Keiser is our Priest-in-Charge, with Neal Hughes serving the Mission as Deacon.

Our Mission received her official charter from the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America in 1997.

Ikon of the Resurrection

Although Holy Resurrection is fairly new to Johnson City, our heritage is rich and our beginnings can be traced directly to the Church in Asian Minor at Antioch, where we were first called Christians. Established by the Apostles Peter and Paul and continuing in an unbroken chain to the present day, the Mission is the result of Christ's work in spreading the Gospel worldwide. Tied to this "Great Cloud" of witnesses, the Saints of the Church, our Mission represents the fullness of the Orthodox Christian Faith and Practice.

We invite all who are interested in the Historic Church to visit us and "Come and See." Find out how the Church developed from her First Century roots.
